notary Public at a glance

A Mobile Notary or Traveling Notary is a notary public who travels to meet clients in-person.

These notaries are typically used as part of the mortgage closing process where multiple parties’ signatures need to be collected. Other areas where it is typical to see a mobile or traveling notary used is in trusts, POAs and healthcare documents.

The downfall is that the traveling notary must still meet with you in-person. Thus, you must make an appointment and wait to meet a notary at a specified time and location. Fees are also typically much higher as you must pay for their travel time and expenses
